The Shekinah Christian Unity Foundation Inc. (SCUFI), was established in 2003 before its registration in October 29, 2004, and was amended on May of 2015 with the endorsement by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Founded by Atty. Jose “Bro. Joe” Villanueva, he is a graduate of the Ateneo de Manila Law School and currently an active Lawyer running his own Law Firm, J.P. Villanueva and Associates, located at the 8th Floor, Sagittarius Bldg., H.V. dela Costa St., Salcedo Village, Makati City. He works with a team of God-fearing Lawyers. Bro. Joe is the Founder and Exec. Chairman of the Shekinah Christian Unity Foundation Inc. – a Ministry that aims to forge unity among Leaders of Christian Churches and Organizations regardless of denominations and/ or affiliations. Shekinah Christian Unity Foundation Inc. has conducted many conferences in different parts of the country such as Baguio City, Cebu City, Legaspi City, Santiago City, Isabela and others, on the THEME “LOVE AND UNITY” reaching out to about five thousand pastors, Christian leaders and workers. He is the President of Christian Legal Society, whose primary purpose is to reach to all members of legal profession for Christ. Their theme “EVEN LAWYER CAN GO TO HEAVEN” – “IF THEY REPENT”. Bro. Joe’s burdened and passion is to reach out to all Filipinos and bring them to the knowledge of God., that no one should perished. For this purpose, he has been in partnership with Rev. Fr., Archie Guiriba of Shalom Charismatic International Ministry. He has a regular weekly radio program at Radio Veritas every Thursday at 8:00-9:00 p.m., entitled “Feasting on Gods Word”. Every Holy week, he joined Fr. Archie Guiriba in proclaiming the Gospel throughout the nation by renting Araneta Coliseum for three (3) consecutive days and buying 15 hours of airtime television for live coverage. He is also actively involved in Prison Ministry, having been ministering at the National Penitentiary for more than 15 years, proclaiming that even the most hardened criminals can be changed and transformed by God. No one is beyond the saving grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. Bro. Joe can preach and teach the Word of God. He has become a well sought after speaker for many different events and local conferences of many Christian organizations and churches to encourage and inspire all Christians to unite as One Body under the leadership of Jesus. He shares his ministry with his lovely wife Malou Villanueva – a gifted teacher and a dynamic preacher of the Word of God, with a doctorate degree on Strategic Studies on the Bible. God has blessed them with three very pretty daughters: Cherrie – a lawyer graduate of London University – now working with NYK Group Europe Ltd.. London, UK, as European VAT Manager; Trinie – graduate of Business Management at Buckingham University, UK; Hannah – graduate of Business Law & Economics at the University College of London and now working with the Multinational Company in Singapore. 

Maria Lourdes V. Villanueva is the wife of Atty. Joe Villanueva a mother, and an Ordained Minister of God by the Ordaining Counsel of the Philippines, headed by Bishop Butch Villanueva and by the Assembly of Christian Ministries. She studied at Sophia University took up International Business Studies major in Commercial Law, a graduate of Masters of Ministry, Masters in Divinity and Doctorate Degree in Strategic Studies, at present she is the Senior Pastor of Shekinah Global Harvest Church, President and CEO of Shekinah Christian Unity Foundation Inc., President of the following Corporations; Phronesis Realty and Dev’t. Corp., Aflame Trading Corp., El Gibbor Minerals Inc., El Gibbor International Forwarding Inc., Hanyong Precious Metal Corp., She is also the current President elect of Rotary International District 3810, Rotary Club of Padre Burgos Manila.

Cherrie Maya Villanueva Anderson is a singer, song writer, the lead singer of the band Ooberfuse, she is a graduate of Law at the London School of Economics and Political Science. She is presently working with Hongkong and Shanghai Bank Corporation (HSBC) as head of the Legal Department. Trinidad Ruth V. Villanueva Graduated at Buckingham University, London with a degree of International Business Studies major in Business Law. Hannah Nenita V. Villanueva Graduated in University College of London with a degree in Economics and World History.

The Foundation has worked for the promotion of sustainable, equitable and participatory development, social welfare and social justice through: Program for religious work, social work, Human Resources Management, Health service and other human service through social research and dissemination of socially relevant knowledge, social intervention through training and field action, contribution to social and welfare policy and program at local, National and Regional levels, over the years, the organization has among others (Foundations, societies) thrusts made a significant contribution to planning, action strategies and Human Resource Development in several areas, ranging from Sustainable Rural and Urban Development, Religious and Moral Education, Basic Education, Health and Medical, Trade, Industry, and Agriculture, in all case, the focus has been on the underserved, disadvantaged and marginalized section of societies, such as women, children and tribal.

(SCUFI) has earned recognition as an institution (Foundation) of repute different communities, barangays and local government of the Philippines and local and international agencies or organization and various international foundations and NGOs. The foundation contributing relevant Religious Education and Research work. Since in the year
2004 up to 2019 the organization Shekinah Christian Unity Foundation Inc. (SCUFI) established its link directly to the members and donors in local, international and private sector partners and its affiliates office throughout the world and the organization declare its work as “Non – Governmental Organization/ Non -Stocks/ Non-Profit Corporation “and the organization registered under Bureau of Internal Revenue, (Revenue Regulation No. 13 – 98 Section 1 (a)), (Tax Code Section 30, (e), (g), and (h)). Income Tax Act, of Republic of the Philippines and the organization also registered under Securities and Exchange Commission of the Republic of the Philippines (Corporation Code Section 88).
